I know we have some discussion on the Trewren (var.) families in the Ludgvan section but the family I am looking at is at Kea so ....
Been looking through som US information regarding the Trewhella (var.) families and have found something interesting.
Matthew TREWHELLA m. Juliana LANYON at Ludgvan 19th August 1827 and had 10 children that I am certain of all born Ludgvan.
In the early 1840's Matthew and his family went to the USA and appear to have settled in Connecticut.
His eldest son, Matthew, was born at Ludgvan in 1829 and it now appears he married twice.
It is the second marriage that is of interest here.
In the 1880 Connecticut Census Matthew is with wife Victoria and two children.
I knew that Victoria was supposed to have been born in England sometime around 1841 - but that is all I knew.
Information just found gives a date of marriage (but no place ) of 28th November 1872.
And her maiden name is given as TRUAN!
There is no Victoria TRUAN recorded in FreeBMD anywhere in England and likewise there is no Victoria TREWREN.
But FreeBMD records the births of TWO girls named Victoria TRURAN.
This is for the entire period from 1837 until past 1920.
One of these births was at Merthyr Tydfil and is followed a year later by a death.
And that means that the remaining girl is probably te one I want.
Victoria Honor TRURAN born December Qtr Truro Vol 9 Page 311
And this will be her family in the 1851 Census:-
1851 Census

Civil Parish: Kea Ecclesiastical Parish: Chacewater
Folio: 767 Page: 5 Schedule: 15

TRURAN John Son - M 9 Cornwall - Kea
TRURAN Victoria Dau - F 8 Cornwall - Kea
TRURAN Catherine Dau - F 7 Cornwall - Kea
TRURAN Sarah Dau - F 5 Cornwall - Kea
Does anyone have any knowledge or connections of/with this family?
And here is something that will need some verification:-
