Hello
Can anyone help with the above marriage in Halestown?
I am OK with the Bennetts side, but I am hitting a brick wall with the Pearce side.
Thanking all in advance.

I think a little help can be found for you Sarah. In 1851 John and Elizabeth (Betsy) were living at Camborne where John had been born. Elizabeth was born at St Ives about 1817/18 and also living with her in 1851 was her sister Norah age 41. The family you want is:- Thomas PEARCE, mariner, married Eleanor COGAR 29th June 1806 at St Ives William bp. 10th May 1807 St Ives ELEANORA bp. 1st September 1809 St Ives Thomas bp. 4th March 1812 St Ives John bp. 4th December 1814 St Ives ELIZABETH bp. 11th July 1817 St Ives I am not yet sure who this Thomas Pearce was but he named his first son William so that might be a clue. St Ives Marriages:- ?? Sep 1846 by Banns John Bennetts 31 bachelor Laborer of St. Ives (Father: Francis Bennetts, Miner) Betsey Pearce 29 spinster of St. Ives (Father: Thomas Pearce, Mariner) Witnesses: Thomas Williams, Peter Bryant Eleanor Pearce was a widow by 1851 so it may take a bit of work to determine who Thomas was. But I will work on it! And I am not sure exactly who Eleanor was as their were two baptisms for Eleanor Cogar at St Ives in 1784. One was daughter of John and Thomasin and the other daughter of Thomas and Ann. Will also try and work on that for you. CT

There has been a big gap but we have had some deaths in the family and I have had a hard time getting back into routine and pick this up.
I will have more once I am back on track again.

Have done some investigation myself and I believe that correct family is Thomas Cogar and Ann Richards.

Sarah - I have not as yet tried too hard to determine which would be the correct Eleanor so would very much appreciate your thoughts and reasons for your conclusion. The answer will obviously affect other families that I will sooner or later be dealing with.
