If the St Ives Humphrys family connect to the Sennen family According to the IGI Christopher was bp 1758 s/o Leonard & Christian Leonard Humphrys (f of Zennor) m Christian Lemall 16 Apr 1754 at St Ives There was a Leonard Humphrys in Sennen (M Jane Nicholas 1733) but his son Leonard was bp 1738 (after an earlier one died) a bit too young to be farming in Zennor. Also there are several Leonards in St Just but not until quite a bit later. Im sure there must be a connection - the name is not common. Pause for breath ;D Just found some notes I made a while back based on someone else's research, which I can no longer access, which claims that Leonard who m Jane Nicholas was the same one who m Christian Lemall and that he was b c1700, son of Stephen & Beaten and therefore the uncle of My 4xgt g Jonathan Humphrys!!! If we could find a death of Jane before 1754 that would make sense.......... GOT IT ;D: Jane wife of Leonard Humphry buried Sennen 2 Jul 1744 Can we now assume safely that it is the same Leonard? If so I leave it to you to work out how many times removed cousins we would be!

The possibilities are there that Leonard was married twice. If the birth of c1700 is anything near accurate then he would have been about 54 when he married Christian Lemall.
From IGI: Christian d/o John LAMALL bp. 30th March 1714 at St Ives
From Phillimore & Taylor: John LEMALL m. Christian BOTTRILL 31st December 1710 at St Ives
There was a JOHES LAMMALE bp. 16th May 1623 at Gulval so perhaps that is where the family originate prior to St Ives.

Briefly. John and Christian (Katherine/Catherine) LEMALL had (IGI) 7 children at St Ives between 1711 and 1729 - all were daughters!

I think you must be right about he adopting her husbands middle name. I popped down to the Archive Centre today and have found the following: Elizabeth Ninnes baptised 13 Feb 1820 da of William & Elizabeth 7 June 1818 at St Ives William Ninnis m Elizabeth Humphrys 15 June 1788 Elizabeth Humphries baptised da of Christopher and Ann 21 Aug 1780 Christopher Humphrys m Ann Harry There are two wills in the CRO catalogue: Christopher Humphreys of St Ives 1828 which must be the one above and another 1849 which I guess is his son who was bp 1783
