I have just read through this thread again and, unless I have missed something, I just realised one rather important thing that has not been mentioned. Have you had a look at the original PR ro the 1806 marriage of William ROWE and Mary BENNATTS With any luck at all one of the WITNESSES will be a ROWE and might just give you the clue you need. And if there happens to be now Rowe as a Witness I would check the others to see if one may have been married to a Rowe girl or, if the witness were female, had been a Rowe by birth.

I believe it was mentioned! Cornishmaid, consider checking the original marriage entry for any Rowe relations as witnesses, or the death cert for William as to the identity of the informant in the off-chance (as does happen) that the informant is a sibling. Let us know how you go, Trencrom Cornishmaid, did the death certificate you mention indicate who the informant was?

So sorry to have been away so long. Yes, I cannot deny, that if I had read this thread right through before our kind friend visited the CRO, then I would of known to have asked him to check the marriage. I could really kick myself for missing that opportunity!! As regards the informant on the Death Certificate Trencrom, it says: "The Mark of Janie Thomas, In attendance, at St Ives" Who Janie Thomas is (was) I am yet to ascertain

Welcome back Our 'friend' may well be back where you need him in the next couple of months according to a note he sent me recently so keep any little items like that in mind in case there is no prior opportunity to have anyone look at them. I found something I needed looked up only a couple of days after he had left the area.
