Well at least there have been some restrictions placed on the number of garden paths you might have to follow! I have managed to tidy up a few other Nicholas scenarios with the few Wills I downloaded yesterday but, once again, I've been left with more mysteries as well. The most frustrating of those is that a William Nicholas of Madron died in 1823 naming his wife as Margery. He also named three children - William, Elizabeth White and Matthew and after a lot of messing around I arrived at the conclusion that these were William Daniel Nicholas (1787 Madron), Elizabeth (bp. 1790 Madron) who married William White at Madron in 1821 and Matthew Daniel Nicholas (1797 Madron). I also determined there was another daughter named Margery who was baptized at Madron in 1786 and died soon before her father wrote his Will in 1823. I can find no possible marriage for William and Margery but from the names of the sons I am more or less convinced that Margery must have been Margery Daniel baptized 1760 Madron to Matthias Daniel and Jane James. All of that has now been put aside so that I can returned to my US Trewhella information but at some stage I will 'attack' the Nicholas Wills again and sort out some more of the families around West Penwith.
