I am searching for any information on the RHODA family in the 1600's. Particularly Benedict RHODDA who married Hanna WATERS in 1706. Also interested in Hanna's parents. With this I am tracing my maternal line through to the POLLARDS.

Hello and Welcome to Penwith Genealogy. It may be a good idea to start thinking about possible Wills involving this couple as you may have a better chance of finding more about them. The marriage took place at Madron in 1706 and whilst there are records prior to that for Madron there is a gap from around the late 1670s to around 1700. If Benedict and/or Hannah were baptized at Madron during that period then you may not find them. Of course they may have been born/baptized elsewhere so try that first. Also try to compile a list of children from the marriage to see if the names might help identify parents of Benedict and Hannah. CT

Cornwall opc database has a baptism at Morvah for Benedict son of Ralph Rodda in 1686 . And Ralph son of Matthew 1659 Rodda is the more usual spelling and still used today by the manufacturers of the most readily available brand of clotted cream!

There is a Benedict Rodda bpt at Morvah 6 June 1686, son of Ralph, who might be of interest.
Edit.....Pipped at the post by a tub of clotted cream.

I've also come across two burials on the Cornwall OPC datebase. record 1196415 gives Benedict RODDA (son of Ralph) on 14 August 1757 and the other record 2200051 Benedict RODDA (son of Ralph) on the 10 March 1727. Any thoughts on this? Working on finding the children now

First thing to do is to check for marriages for men named Benedict Rodda. (You also need to be aware of variations such as Benet and even on occasion Benjamin.)
It is possible that the two burials belonged to the one family with the first Ralph being an infant and the latter being as old as in his 20s but it is probably more likely that we have two separate Benedict Roddas involved with them possibly being father and son.
Best thing to do is to start with possible marriages and then construct a list of probable children for each. That should hopefully help you answer your question.

My 7xGGrandparents are Bendedict Rodda and Hannah Waters. I also have Benedict's parents as Ralph Rodda and Faith. To be honest I stopped there and its information I came across about 20years ago so I can't remember much more. I've gone off on other lines in the meantime.

Rather than 'coming across' information and taking it for granted it is probably now an appropriate time for you to take that information and try to verify it all. There is plenty of help available these days with transcripts of Parish Registers etc. and even images of the original registers available through FamilySearch. First thing for you to do is to verify your links back to your first connection with Cornwall. If you have your family back to when they arrived in Australia then you should know who the first immigrants were. We then locate them in the Census and from there can work backwards step by step and check everything along the way. There is no point in trying to trace ancestors of Benjamin and Faith if it turns out that there is a false link further down the line. CT
