I have Anthony Hampton, born about 1655 married to Florence (?) 26june 1680 at St. Buryan, and presmeably his brother Benjamin born about 1660 married to Elizabeth (?) 23may 1687 at St.Buryan. These 2 Hamptons seem to have beamed down to Earth and cannot find any indication of where from. Any ideas very welcome.

Most odd! I would not have considered St Buryan as a place to find this family - at least not at that time. You have probably already checked but IGI shows only two entries for Anthony (one at Penzance and one at Redruth each in the latter half of the 1700's) and not one entry at all for Benjamin. That was for baptisms yet there are only two marriages for Anthony - 1680 St Buryan and 1786 Madron with again nothing for Benjamin. Have you checked Protestation Returns and Hearth Tax records for them? If not at St Buryan then you may need to search each return to see if any sort of hint shows up. Certainly not the Edwards or Roberts I had gotten a little used to.
