From - West Briton & Cornwall Advertiser 1 Dec 1848

CORONER'S INQUEST - The following inquest has been held before Mr. John CARLYON, coroner. On Saturday last, at Redruth, on the body of Mary MICHELL, widow, aged 78 years. The deceased resided in the adjoining parish of Illogan, and it appeared that on Friday last she walked to Redruth market to purchase some meat for a sick daughter, when she found that some one had been there before her and purchased some meat in her name without paying for it. This appeared to hurry her a good deal, and as she was passing through the Church Lane, in her way home, she fell down and almost instantly expired. Verdict, Apoplexy."
